First ever Birchbox!

I know I'm a little late with this....but I still want to join the party! I also think that I'll do a blog and/or open box video. Have it be...it's own mini series! :)

So, like the title suggests, this is my first ever Birchbox. And for those that don't know what a Birchbox is...Well, they are a company. And what they do is send out 4-5 samples in a box per month. This way you can try new products you've never heard of or are iffy on trying. Along with the samples they send a little card with the company of the product, name of said product, a description, how to use it, and the price of a regular sized product.

For the August box, and my first ever, I received:

Harvey Prince's Ageless perfurme. "This grapefruit-sandalwood blend leaves skin smelling youthful." When I had pulled this out of the box and smelled it, the first thing I thought of was Ami. No joke. It's very close to whatever she wears now. It did have a slight citrus/fruity smell to it with, what I like to think of as a beachy smell, under tones. Keep in mind that I don't wear much in the way of perfume, mainly because my husband has little, if any, sense of smell. I usually just go for something I like. This was something that I liked! :)

LAQA & Co.'s Sheer Lip Lube Pencil in Menatour ( Purple). "A high-gloss, semi-sheer lip color that's perfect for summer. Bonus: It smells minty fresh!" This lip pencil went on buttery smooth and lift my lips feeling moisturized and soft. I really liked the way it applied and the way it felt on. I really wish that I had it in a pink or a red (which will be something I will have to buy). Also, it really did smell minty fresh! On the card it suggests wearing it solo or even layering with a lipstick.

Noir Cosmetics's Long-Wear Eyeliner. "Enriched with vitamin E, this creamy, waterproof liner glides on smoothly for all-day wear." I really liked this, the way it felt on my eyes, the smooth application, and the fact that it didn't crease...even after an all day wear. I was extremely pleased with this product. The only thing that was a down side was that it was more of a charcoal color than a true black.

Vasanti Cosmetics's Detox Nutrient-Rich Purifying Facial Cleanser. "This foamy, sulfate-free wash gently removes pore-clogging impurities without overdrying." How true that is! After washing my face with this it was the best my face has ever felt! I still used moisturizer, but didn't feel like I had the need to over to it because my skin was dry. It was so nice that I even went to work one day without anyone else on but moisturizer. That NEVER happens!

Whish's Shave Crave Shaving Cream-Acai Grapefruit. "A shea-butter packed, silky cream in a fresh-for-summer scent." During, after...whatever, this was the best my legs have ever felt while shaving! This will be something that I will be replacing because...YES! PLEASE! My legs weren't left over dry, I had no shaving bumps, or razor burn from using this. My only sad thing is....it's empty. 

I hope that you all will go to Birchbox and get your own box. It's almost like Christmas in a box once a month. It's a nice little surprise, and not to mention...You get a chance to try out new products with out having to spend an arm and a leg!
